This series documents my experience of living in New York, creating a portrait of the city through light, framing, and the rhythm of daily encounters. I sought to capture fleeting gestures, crowded streets, and quiet interiors in a way that feels distinctly New York, vivid, layered, and in constant motion. By focusing on how people inhabit and move through the city, these images reflect both its energy and intimacy, offering a perspective shaped by my own lived experience.
I was drawn to the contrasts that define New York: the interplay of fluidity and movement versus still structures, moments of solitude within the rush of crowded avenues, and how people carve personal rhythms into the city’s endless motion. These portraits of place reflect both the grandeur and grit of New York, seen through my eyes as I navigate its streets and spaces.
Photographed both digitally (Canon EOS Rebel T6i) and on 35 mm film (Olympus).
