Printmaking

Etching Series (Copper Plate & Printing Press)
This series was created using traditional etching techniques on copper plates, printed with a press. I drew inspiration from natural forms as well as personal pattern-making, focusing on intimate areas of the human figure rather than full scenes to explore scale and abstraction. I also experimented with color through the use of stencils, adding layered variation to the prints.

Linocut & Laser-Cut Series (Linoleum & Birchwood)
Building on the themes of my etching work, this series combined hand-carved linoleum prints with laser-cut patterns on birchwood. I continued to explore nature-inspired motifs, incorporating elements from my own photography and translating realistic imagery, like hands and trees, into more abstract forms.

Process Reflection
These projects were a rewarding exploration of analog printmaking techniques. Working with the press and witnessing the subtle differences in each print highlighted the tactile and unpredictable nature of the medium. I became more attuned to how different processes, etching vs. linocut or laser, give themselves to varied visual results, from smooth gradients and delicate shading to bold contrast and defined edges.

Cyanotypes

Cyanotype Collage Series
This series was created using cyanotype techniques, combining stencils made from my own film photographs with found objects from my home. Each piece was contact-printed onto cyanotype paper and then hand-collaged.

I was interested in exploring identity, specifically my own, as someone who lives between the lines of different cultures and geographies. These works reflect my experience navigating life in New York while remaining connected to my family roots in Greece and Poland. Through language, symbols, and personal imagery, I explored the tension and balance between memory, place, and self.
