This series documents statues I encountered during my excursions in Czechia, Belgium, and Slovakia, monuments embedded in the everyday lining of gardens, squares, and cityscapes. Through composition and perspective, I sought to evoke emotion from these static forms, capturing how a lowered angle emphasizes their grandeur and distance while eye-level frames reveal more human, expressive qualities.
I was drawn to the contrast between the statues and their surroundings: towering over cities or sharing space with playful passersby. This series also reflects on how history, so deeply woven into Europe’s urban landscapes, becomes something we stumble upon, quiet pieces of memory within daily life.
